About Us

The Full Story

In April 1967, the Welcome Wagon Hostess organized a luncheon for ten women who were new residents.  During the meeting, plans were formulated for North Eastern Welcome Wagon Club.  Over the years, the name has changed several times, including Welcome Wagon Club of North East Cinti, Welcome to the Queen City, Inc, and finally in 1990 to North East Welcomers, Inc., or N.E.W Inc., as we know it today.

Although there have been many changes over the years, the basic purpose and goals of the club have never changed.  As an independent social organization, N.E.W. affords its members an opportunity to make new friends and participate in interest groups and activities each month.  In addition, fundraising events such as raffles, card parties, and auctions are held.  A different charity is chosen each year by the membership to receive the proceeds.

N.E.W. also provides opportunities for its members to take an active interest in the welfare of the community by donating their time and energy to charitable and humanitarian projects within the community.
